Position Overview

The VP of Financial Manager will work in collaboration with the President, CEO, other top management, Board of Directors, strategic advisors, and key investors to lead the organization, with responsibility for financial reporting, strategic planning, and record- keeping. Core responsibilities will include a major overhaul of the current financial tracking systems to account for the rapid expansion of operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Play a lead role in creating and maintaining key performance indicators and development of financial and operational dashboards by senior management.
    • Upgrade the current accounting and business process software to include advanced inventory tracking, monitoring of manufacturing in Asia, 3PL, and transfer of goods between multiple warehouses.
    • Build and integrate ERP technology solutions with accounting systems and existing business applications to guide the company through rapid growth and expansion
    • Ensure government compliance in all tasks
    • Lead and manage the budgeting process. Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile. Provide for a system of management cost reports. Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
    • Coordinate the preparation of annual, quarterly, and monthly reports.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in business development, finance, and accounting
    • Thorough knowledge of Amazon FBA and 3PL platforms
    • Experience with expense tracking for government grants
    • Experience in import and export of commercial goods from Asia. Understanding of global logistics.
    • A clear understanding of customs duties, the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States, The Import Security Filing (ISF).
    • Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, MBA, or equivalent experience
    • Experience with R&D tax credits is preferred
    • Experience with e-commerce sales platforms such as Shopify is required
    • Experience in publicly traded companies listed on US or Canadian markets is required
